Russia’s Mail.ru Group launches online games study project
MOSCOW, Jan 20 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet giant Mail.Ru Group has launched a project, Gamestats.mail.ru, comprising studies and analyses of the online games industry, its volume and players, both domestic and foreign, the company said Wednesday in a statement.
“Starting from 2013, we’ve been sharing with the market and specialists our opinions of the games industry in Russia. This year we united all data on a single floor: market experts and developers will have all information in ‘one window’,” Oleg Shpilchevsky, head of the games department at Mail.Ru Group, said.
“Under the project, we’ve offered the industry a new research on profiles of foreign gamers: when domestic developers of online games enter new markets more actively, it’s important to help them get oriented and understand the main differences.”
The research provides data on gamers from France, Germany, the U.K. and the U.S., including their preferences and attitude to payments in games.
